Class Descriptions

Unleash your child's inner artist in this creative art class! Kids will explore colors, shapes, and different art materials while learning to express themselves through painting, drawing, and crafting. This hands-on class encourages imagination, fine motor skills, and a love for creating art. Every masterpiece is a step toward building confidence and having fun in a world full of color!

Introduce your little one to the joy of knitting in this fun and engaging class! Designed for tiny hands, we’ll use kid-friendly materials to explore basic finger knitting and simple yarn crafts. This class encourages creativity, fine motor skills, and patience while making adorable projects to take home. No experience needed—just a love for fun and creativity!

Let your child’s imagination soar in this exciting LEGO Architecture class! Using colorful LEGO bricks, kids will explore basic building techniques and create their own mini masterpieces. They'll develop spatial awareness, creativity, and problem-solving skills while designing fun structures and learning the fundamentals of architecture. Perfect for young builders and aspiring architects!

Class Descriptions

Introduce your little ones to the joys of creative movement with this playful and engaging class! Kids will learn movement through stories, games, and imagination. This class helps improve flexibility, balance, and focus, all while having fun. It’s a great way for kids to relax, move, and connect with their bodies in a positive and calming environment!

Join us for a hands-on, creative adventure in our PlayDoh Creation Class, designed specifically for 5-year-olds! This engaging session combines fun and learning as children explore the endless possibilities of shaping, molding, and creating with colorful, non-toxic PlayDoh.

Through guided activities and imaginative challenges, kids will develop their fine motor skills, boost their creativity, and work collaboratively with their peers. They’ll make shapes, sculpt themed creations like animals or food, and contribute to a group masterpiece. With plenty of tools and materials provided, this class is the perfect opportunity for young minds to express themselves while having a fun  “PlayDoh” time.

Fun, engaging, and educational after school storytelling class for Kindergarteners! The class will focus on fostering creativity, language development and social skills through storytelling, music, and hands-on activities. 

By the end of the program, students will have: 

  • Improved listening skills 
  • Developed an understanding of the structure of a story 
  • Gained confidence in their ability to share ideas with peers 
  • Enjoy a fun and interactive story!

Attendance Agreement

Your child must attend the class that they are signed up for. Missing classes will result in the loss of their spot and they will be removed from the program.

Pick-Up Time Agreement

Your children must be picked up once their class is over, no exceptions.

J.P. at 4:30 PM at the Multipurpose Doors in back of school

Any child that is picked up LATE will be removed from the program and their spot will be filled from the wait list.

Waitlist Agreement

If there are no current spots available for your child, they will be added to the waitlist. This is on a first come, first served basis.

Once a spot is open, you will receive an email. You must respond in order to confirm the spot.

Voluntary Leave

If you choose to remove your child from the program, you must email Sarah McCarthy at sarahm@ymcatarrytown.org in writing.
